If you're planning to detox so that you can make your body
healthier and undergo a diet and lifestyle change that will improve
your health and quality of life, you may want to know that there
will likely be some symptoms during the detox itself which, if it's
your first time, are not pleasant. However, they are not harmful.
If it's your first detox, you might want to know that you'll begin
to experience some symptoms of detoxification, such as bad breath,
low energy, even nausea. You might think that since you felt better
before, you will want to go back to your old lifestyle. However, for
most people, the symptoms are transitory and will go away as the
detox continues. In the end, you'll feel better after the detox than
you did before.
Some symptoms you might be experiencing during your detox include:
· Feeling tired or having low energy
· Being irritable or having other "negative" mood symptoms
· Either having trouble sleeping or oversleeping.
· Feeling weak or having lack of strength or fatigue
· Lack of motivation or energy
It's important to know that these symptoms are normal and will go
away. So tough it out if you can and put up with them for the short
term. They will go away and your body will only thank you for it.
It's helpful during a fast or detoxification to limit or suspend
social activities or other activities for the time you're doing it,
since your body will need its reserves to do the cleansing and
repair it’s undertaking.
