Jane was an easygoing lady. She ate what she liked, drank what she liked, and smoked when she wanted to. No one was going to tell her that she needed to exercise and eat a healthy diet. And the cigarettes had been her friends for years. Then one day, she looked in the mirror and found it hard to believe that she was the aging, wrinkled woman looking back at her.

Since Jane didn’t bother to protect herself from the sun, her skin was rough and weathered. Her forehead was filled with deep frown lines, a result of not wearing sunglasses or a hat. Laugh lines and crow’s feet completed the picture of a once attractive woman who’s skin had suffered from lack of care.

Seeing the damage that her lifestyle had caused to her skin was a wake-up call for Jane. She was aging too quickly and certainly didn’t want to become a mass of wrinkles by the time she retired. Something had to be done.

Jane discovered that there were a number of treatments for her bad skin, from wrinkle creams to chemical peels or injections. But before any of the treatments would work long term, she needed to change her lifestyle. Her skin appeared older because the cells had dried out, a result of her poor diet and lack of skin protection.

First, Jane started guarding her skin from direct sun by wearing a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses when she ventured out in the heat. She stopped sleeping with her makeup on and made sure to use a good skin cleanser before going to bed. Cutting down on cigarettes, caffeine and alcohol were the hardest things to do, but she felt so much better once she did. Drinking lots of pure water and green tea helped to hydrate her dry skin.

The biggest change was beginning to eat healthy food. Instead of filling up on soda, sugar and fried foods as she had in the past, Jane started to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. She was told that sweet potatoes, tomatoes, cantaloupe and citrus fruits were good for fighting wrinkles. Spinach and broccoli had plenty of vitamin A to keep her skin from being dry and tough. She also learned that her skin would benefit from more protein, especially fish, turkey, chicken, beans, and tofu.

Once Jane started exercising, eating a balanced diet, and reducing the cigarettes and alcohol in her life, she started to notice an improvement almost right away. Her once blotchy skin began to have a healthier glow and blemishes became a thing of the past.

Now that Jane was on the right track with her skin care, she was in a position to use one of the many products available to diminish her existing wrinkles. She decided to start with a cream that was specially formulated to replenish the collagen that her skin had lost through aging.
