The oldest of the baby boomer generation turned 60 years old in
the year 2006. And this generation has a strong desire to look and
feel better than ever before. Just a century ago the average life
expectancy was 42 years old, now we can enjoy a life span of nearly
double that thanks to advances that have been made in modern
medicine and technology. Because of this we're constantly looking
for ways to slow down or stop the aging process.
While there's no special solution or potion to magically fight the
process of aging, there are numerous things we can do to help
ourselves be as healthy as possible and for as long as possible.
Maintaining a healthy weight is critical for good health and a good
quality of life. Blood pressure and cholesterol should be monitored
and kept at the recommended minimums. Smoking and other harmful

worn daily.
Feeling younger and better isn't just about how we look on the

handle the entire aging process in general. Mental health has gained
recognition in recent years for being just as important as physical
health for our overall being and wellness. It has been proven that a
person with a healthy, positive attitude is far more likely to ward
off illness and also experience quicker recovery times than that of
a person with a negative attitude or outlook on life.
Baby Boomers have realized that feeling younger and feeling better
in general, is a state of mind that must be worked at in order to be
successful. Depression is one of the most common mental conditions
the aging population faces, but fortunately it's also very treatable
with methods such as therapy and or medication.
Our lives today are filled with countless activities and we're
constantly being put under time constraints whether it's at our job
or in our personal lives at home. Baby Boomers are finding that in
order to age as gracefully and as slowly as possible, one must find
healthy ways of combating stress and dealing with the negative
effects it can cause.
Stress is undoubtedly one of the leading contributing factors of
health problems and premature aging. However, there are numerous
methods of curbing stress and easing its effects on the mind and
body. There are functional approaches to dealing with stress such as
massage or hydrotherapy as well as physical ways of lessening the
effects like regular exercise such as walking, swimming or
bicycling.
Baby Boomers are also discovering that mental exercise is probably
just as important as exercising our bodies. Mental exercises, as

for a healthier overall state of being long into our golden years.
